Edmonton miniature show

I attended the Edmonton miniature show this last weekend and although it certainly did not rival any of the wonderful shows I read about, it was lovely, small but lovely.
Here are a few of the goodies I managed to bring home with me including this tiny all bisque doll. You really have to see her to believe how wee she really is.
I am absolutely in love with the Staffordshire dogs I was able to obtain. I have a set sitting on my fireplace at home which I spotting in Britian many years ago and were sent over by my Aunt some months later as a wedding present. So it is only fitting that the dolls house has a set as well.

Mini trip to Ladurees!!

Today is "National talk like a pirate day" in Canada, perhaps it is even international, I don't know. What I do know is that it is a bad day to work in the field of Ophthalmology when all you do all day is put people in eye patches and test their vision. I thought I would go around the twist before lunch with all the " Arrrs" I heard today. Luckily my wonderful postman managed to salvage the day with a little present in my mailbox for me to find after my weary slog home from work. A little of my beloved Ladurees in miniature! I had already acquired a few little treats from
www.parisminiatures.com including my lovely little cupcakes and pastry which really do look good enough to eat!! So to add to my lovely little collection I bought a wonderful little precious gift set from Oiseau deNim on Etsy. Everything is soooo pretty and wonderfully scaled! I can't tell you how please I am and can't wait to have my little house ready to decorate with all these pretty things.

Cozy Bed

The nights are starting to draw in and the leaves are turning. It was quite cool in my part of Canada today. The perfect day to start thinking about autumn and dressing a cozy bed for the dollhouse. The house itself has been on hiatus for the better part of the summer but will be back front and center on my things to do list in a few short weeks and I will try in ernest to get the house itself done by Christmas. If last winter was any indicator I will have lots of snowing Sundays to dedicate to it's construction.
My lovely little fireplace is by Hearth and Home miniatures in the UK. Unfortunately, the lights for the fires were misplaced and although I have managed to find replacements, the will not fit in the openings at the back of the fires. Back to ebay...

Juggarnaut

I spent a lovely weekend at the lake watching flying lesson as the little babies bird that inhabited our birdhouse took to flight. Unfortunately we forgot the camera or I could have shared.
These little jugs are what I made in between bird watching out on the deck in the lovely sunshine we are finally enjoying in Canada.
I got a little carried away perhaps? They are just so much fun to make!!

Duncan Fyfe window seat and needlework

Little Duncan Fyfe window seat kit made from a kit with one of Christy Repasy's ( with her permission) paintings printed on fabric for the seat. Christy's painting are incredible! I love everything she does and now she has even painted fabric and covered a full size chair in beautiful roses on her website. I have also printed off some tiny pictures of hers onto watercolour paper to grace the walls of my dollhouse to be. Sooo pretty!!!

Garden roombox

I just received an email from uol.hk. and had to share it. It is the prettiest garden room box ready to be finished. A lot of the blogs I follow include the loveliest little flowers and plants that would look so beautiful in this setting!
The cost of this little French Garden vignette is $90 which I think is really reasonable.
www.uol.hk
I won't be buying one as I may have already treated myself this month...year etc.
