This is my new dollhouse clock that I just ordered from www.small-time.com in the UK
It has weights and a pendulum and actually works! Very exciting! I have a little book called Masterpieces in Miniature by Nick Forder ( actually it is a set of three little books) and Keith Bougourd of Small Time is featured in it and I was and am in love with his beautiful clocks and fine miniatures. I have also asked his to drop of few lines in a handwritten note so I can keep it in my dollhouse book! ( fingers crossed he does it!). Isn't it beautiful???

A few tiny little project finished! I made a little bow tie quilt and pillow to sit on the end of one of my dollhouse beds,( can't see quilt to well can you?) also put together and painted a tiny table. I didn't have a handle for the table so I used a small swarovski crystal bead. I think it looks rather pretty! The tiny books and album are what I received from "The Linen Press" in the UK. They are so lovely and all the books have content! I want to be able to read all the books that go into my dollhouse.

This is the beautiful doll I have ordered to live in my french dollhouse ( when it is built). She is modeled to be Jane Austen's Emma. Perhaps Regency and French don't mix but hey, it is my dollhouse and she is gorgeous! I wasn't going to have a dollhouse doll at all as I have never found one I really liked, now I have found one I love! The artist (Lisa Johnson-Richards) is also making me a nightgown that I can hang on her wardrobe in her beautiful, yet to exist bedroom. There is a 6 month waiting list, so she has penciled me in for July. I can't wait!! Here is her website address

You really must check out her beautiful dolls and costumes, they are amazing!

Crystal Chandelier have arrived.

I think these are the loveliest dollhouse chandeliers. I bought a 6 arm chandelier and a 3 arm chandelier for my soon to be french dollhouse. I am already starting to collect things. I can't wait to see them all lit up! The crystal just sparkle and are so delicate. I ordered them from HongKong and they only took about a week to arrive. I have also ordered some beautiful staircases from the same company and am looking forward to them coming soon as well.

You've got mail!

I recently received two wonderful books on dollhouses re: Amazon. "Magnificent Miniatures" by Kevin Mulvany and Susie Rogers is exactly as it says "magnificent". I read the whole book in one evening as I couldn't put it down. The houses are incredible, a real feast for the eyes!

"Queen Mary's Dollhouse" by Lucinda Lambton is stunning. Thousands upon thousands of beautifully crafted tiny miniatures fill every square inch, and are in every drawer and cupboard in the this absolutely huge and divine palace. There are tiny bottles of wine corked with real vintage wines in them ( I heard they had to let the champagne go flat as the bubbles were to big for the bottles). Dishes, silverware, bed linens and other small items to numerous to mention, and the furniture is simply amazing!

I am waiting on one more book from Amazon called " Le Grande Livre de la Maison Miniature" by Lea Frisoni a dollhouse all decorated in the french style. It written all in french but the pictures are incredible. I can't wait until it arrives!

Tiny pierced paper doilies

I just remember this morning that I had found these beautiful paper doilies in an old book. They are so tiny and delicate and I can't wait to use them on a silver tray or a small cake stand in my dollhouse!

Let there be light! or at least the potential for lights!

Using the tester and we have electricity! Yeah! That wasn't nearly as hard as I was imagining it, although I will be doing it a bit differently in my new dollhouse when it comes.

Well nearly two years later and I finally have found something to blog about. Dollhouses and miniatures. I have been inspired to finish my Beacon Hill dollhouse which has been sitting on the shelf 3/4 finished for almost 25 years now. I have also ordered another dollhouse the Corona Gloucester in hopes of making that my french dollhouse, which of course, I will name but just haven't thought of one yet. It will be Petite something or other. Here is a picture of my Beacon hill house as it sits now, or as of a week ago. I am hopefully to be finished all the wiring for the lights today and paint the upper dormer window.
