Baby steps

It doesn't look like much progress has been made on my little French house but I have been working really hard on it!!  It probably doesn't help that I do everything twice (notice the new front door). I have attached the base, made the front and back steps, both the side door and window are done but not installed and notice the pelmet over the door and all the bits of trim are on.

Anyhow, the outside is done to the point I want it to be at this stage and now I am happy to report, I am moving inside.  I am actually quite excited!
First window in the kitchen is in along with its little window rod and catch and I am quite pleased. It really does look quaint.

I am trying to resist the urge to shop for little French furnishing and carpets for my house as I am a long way from a completed house but I can't help myself.  I purchased a little settee from Lea and will share it with you all when it arrives.  Have a great week!

  3. Hello Sculptress.
It looks lovely. Don't think of it as doing things twice...look at it as a test run to get rid of any problems and a perfect finish run ;)

    1. Giac, I spent hours last Saturday night and went through your whole blog! It was amazing and so beautiful. Your English Victorian manor is incredible, I simply don't have the words. I was happy to find you are in Canada too.

  4. You are making such a great job of this, I adore it! You can see the effort and thought you put in. I love the new door, especially the leaded roof part.

  5. Thanks Simon, I just don't want to look back when I am done and say "Oh, I wish I hadn't settled for that...."

  6. Your door and windows look amazing! I'm so clumsy that I finally threw in the towel and used mass-produced doors and windows.

  7. Thank you so much Anna! I was a bit dubious about how they went into the house, but so far so good. I put my second window in last night....sigh, I love the project.

  8. I am so excited for you to have made so much progress, and to now begin working on the interior, Hooray!!! I am totally loving the kitchen door with rod lock as well as your new front door and windows. I always have some furniture and/ or accessories that I use for props as I am building; that way I can get a feel for the way the room will be used and the personality that will be using it.
Everybody has their own method of making their dreams come alive, but it must be Wonderful to anticipate the French settee from Lea' Herself and it should feel right at home here in your French dream house! :D

    1. Thanks so much Elizabeth. I can't wait to show off my little settee! I did however, have a little accident with my Stanley knife so dollhouse building and also typing are a bit tricky at the minute.
